  • Yes. Let’s maximize your time on the table- helping to tailor your session by understanding your needs, preferences, and areas of focus ahead of time. • We tell our clients to disrobe at their level of comfort. Half of our clients prefer to remove all garments, including underwear. The other half prefer to leave their undergarments on. No matter what you decide, you will always be fully draped with a sheet during your session. In fact, CA law requires breasts and genitals be covered at all times.

There are some cases when removing underwear will make it easier for you and your therapist if you are getting gluteal work done, as moving them aside can become restricting and uncomfortable.

In modalities such as Shiatsu, Thai, and some sports or stretch therapies, there is no need to disrobe at all. It is best to discuss with your therapist.

  • No. A good massage, even with some deep tissue work, you should never leave feeling in agony. Pain is often an alert of an underlying injury or inflammation, telling your muscle to guard and protect itself. No pain is gain. Maybe an intense gym workout feeling, but never pain.

  • Only if you want to. You are free to choose whatever type of music you want to listen to. Music does affect the nervous system, but if circus music is what makes you feel calm, then it is your session. Or silence is always an option as well.
